GROW UP ... Eat your breakfast!

Yes - yes, you've heard it before...

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!!

You hear it all the time, but do you listen?
During your hours of sleep your body has been fasting and your metabolism has also been at rest. Skipping a breakfast keeps your body in starvation mode. Your metabolism stays low saving it's fuel burning power...not knowing when it may be fed fuel again.

Trying to Loose Weight?

Skipping breakfast is the worst thing to do for those of you who are trying to lose weight...you're only keeping your metabolism at a very low rate. Eating breakfast increases your fat burning ability!

Your Body Has Three Gas Tanks!

In tank #1, you burn carbs
In tank #2, you burn fat
In tank #3, you burn protein

Lower your carb intake at breakfast! Many people eat mainly carbs for breakfast...by doing this they burn mostly carbs. This is not good since carbs are burned quickly, forcing your body to produce large amounts of insulin in order to convert those carbs to sugar for energy.

The best fuel to burn is fat, tank #2. Many people never burn this high energy fuel because they eat too many carbs at breakfast. The body will always choose carbs to burn first. The best way to get to the fat burning energy is of course, to lower your carbs at breakfast. This is great for weight loss and works wonders for you metabolism.

Don't Eat Dessert for Breakfast!

Say NO to:

-cereal
-muffins
-toast
-sweet breads or doughnuts
-bagels
-sweetened yogurts
-jams and spreads

These are so high in carbs ... it's the same as having cookies or cake.

Why NOT to Skip Breakfast:

It's not complicated...skipping breakfast is screaming at your body to "STORE FAT"!
You should eat within about 30 minutes of waking. After which your body will get it's fuel by using tank #3 and burn precious protein. You want to keep the protein in your body. You need your protein for strong muscles, hair, cells, tissues and much more.

20 Seconds Of Courage Can Change Your Life

My Courage "IS" inside me!

Just 20 Seconds of Insane Courage!

Face your problems or opportunities with courage and your life will never be the same.

What situation in your life could use just 20 seconds of insane courage to make a change, to open the door of opportunity? 20 seconds to tell someone something you're afraid to, 20 seconds to begin something that you've always wanted to, 20 seconds to make that call you've been putting off, 20 seconds to put in your two cents/your opinion...which would make big changes in your life.

The good news is once you start practicing this 20 second concept, it gets easier.

Often it's the moments we don't expect or cannot possibly plan for that can be the turning points and possibly even the source of magic in our lives.

In an instant where your response or reaction can be one of those opportunities to do or say something courageous, to make a difference or to take one giant step closer to a major turning point in your life.

In the movie, Benjamin Mee, the unlikely zookeeper, shares the most important thing he learned from his brother... "The greatest moments of our lives start with just 20 seconds of insane courage. In that amount of time you can change your life. The lives of those around you. And possibly the world."

What’s holding you back from taking the first step of courage, when it presents itself?

  • Someone’s opinion
  • Fear of failure
  • Only 20 seconds can change your life!
  • Security

Once you face your problems or opportunities with courage, the world starts to open up. So take a deep breath, shoot caution to the wind...grab your 20 seconds of insane courage and see where the cards fall. There is no glory in not trying! You'll see how great it feels...you'll find opportunities instead of trials, new ways of doing what you want instead of dead end roads. It brings you freedom and happiness.

Think about the past and what opportunities you've missed. Opportunities where you didn't take that 20 seconds to speak up, take a stand, give your opinion, ask a question, volunteer yourself, ask for something. Now think about future opportunities and problems that will surely cross you path, and how you will swallow and step up ... gather your 20 seconds of insane courage! In time it becomes easier and then without even knowing, second nature.

Today....

Find that one thing that needs your 20 seconds of courage.
Take 20 seconds of insane courage and do something about it! Go change your life today!

What can 20 seconds of insane courage do for you?

Blog Dedication

This Blog Is Dedicated To All Women And Men Who Have CrossedThe 40 Year Hurdle!

We made it!  Wait, is that really something to cheer about?  Of course it is.  As you come back to visit this blog, we'll be talking about anything and everything about the 'right of passage' we have gone through getting to 40 and beyond...
we'll share "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!"

By now we've learned what "hind sight is 20/20" actually means!
What else have we learned?

  • It's ok to say "no".
  • It's time to do something for ourselves.
  • That our children are just on loan to us and they need to make their own decisions now.
  • One of the hardest things to do is let go.
  • We now know time really does heal!
  • Regretting things is a waste of time.
  • Some people are just not good for your life...bless them and move on.
  • It's true that "life really is short"!
  • You can actually see things from your parents point of view...you realize they really did do the best they knew how.

Vacations aren't always a big trip....it can be any small amount of time doing something that makes you happy.  It's really a break from obligations and stress, short or long.

Un-answered prayers are usually blessings in disguise.

You don't need the credit for things you do.

Some things just can't be fixed, and that's ok.

  • It was exhausting to worry about what others think.
  • Now you're aware of how grateful you are for so many things.
  • You realize there is still so much to learn.
  • Everyone enters out life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
  • Force in any situation doesn't work.
  • A certain calmness enters your life.

I hope you'll take a few minutes every now and then to visit my blog, and share your opinions or comment, if you feel compelled to.
